Music

I've been away from music for a very long time. I've been looking into it recently, and found that the technology for computer generated orchestral music has come a *long* way since I was playing with it those many years ago.

I'm using the Stradivari Solo Violin and Gofriller Solo Cello from the Garritan Libraries. Solo string sounds were something that was especially disappointing when I was doing this years ago. The Garritan team has developed samples that really have that warm, woody acoustic sound that I thought would never be possible. There's a lot of editing here....every aspect of the sound is manipulatable, tho I've much to learn with respect to string technique. I'm still going to suck, but these libraries will allow me to suck much more convincingly.

This is just an initial experiment with some string techniques. Largely successful, but I still have a long way to go.
